Protect your right to a DEXA Bone Density Study

As part of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, Congress has mandated that Medicare payments to physicians for DEXA bone density studies be drastically cut in order to save the government money. The cuts have already started and will be continuing for the next few years. Based on the plan for the projected cuts, it is possible that we will no longer be able to afford to provide bone density studies at our office by next year. This will significantly reduce patient access to this important service in the York area. Obviously, this puts the health of women with osteoporosis and those with an increased risk of developing osteoporosis in jeopardy. For this reason, we need your help to stop these harmful cuts now. Please contact the local legislators to let them know how important it is to stop these harmful Medicare cuts, so that women have access to the care they need.
